CASE STUDY: Jessica is the event planner for a large convention center. A client has requested an exhibition that would not only bring excellent revenue but is an annual event that several other convention centers would like to host. Exhibitions typically take one or two days to set up, three to four days of exhibition, and one day to break down. Professional organizations handle each part of the set up and breakdown. When Jessica checks the space available on the days requested for the exhibition, she notices that another exhibition is blocking part of the space needed by her client. QUESTION: If you are Jessica what will you do to get this exhibition to use the convention center without inconveniencing either exhibition too much?

To resolve the space problem, my first course of action would be to get in touch with the other exhibition organizers. I would explain the circumstance and the significance of fitting both shows into the conference center, and I would then ask if they would be willing to make any modifications to their setup in order to create room for my client's exhibition.

Due to the time and handiwork involved in making the exhibits, students love learning via them. They gain confidence and overcome stage anxiety when they do presentations at exhibitions because they have greater experience speaking in front of an audience.

Finding a solution that permits both exhibitions to go on as scheduled without causing too much inconvenience to either would be my aim. It might be necessary for the many parties involved to work together and solve some creative problems, but with open communication and a willingness to cooperate, I am convinced that a win-win solution can be achieved.
