What am I doing wrong here?
In my bingo game you have to match 3 balls to win.
20 balls are drawn from a 60 ball total.
I’m able to deduce that I have a 1 / 34,220 chance of winning.
However, I win more like 1 / 100 attempts.
Please identify where my maths is going wrong:
My maths:
For the first ball there are 60 options.
For the second ball there are 59 options.
For the third ball there are 58 options.
I need to multiply these 3 options:
60 x 59 x 58 = 205,320
1 / 205,320.
However, the order of the numbers doesn’t matter, so we’ll exclude permutations from the total combinations:
Permutations = 3! = 3x2 = 6
205,320 / 6 = 34220
So to win a this game I have a 1 / 34,220 chance.
Why then am I winning 1/100 attempts? Something is very wrong.
Using the hypergeometric distribution, it is found that you are going to win approximately 3.33% of the time.
What is the hypergeometric distribution formula?The formula is:
[tex]P(X = x) = h(x,N,n,k) = \frac{C_{k,x}C_{N-k,n-x}}{C_{N,n}}[/tex]
[tex]C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}[/tex]
The parameters are:
x is the number of successes.N is the size of the population.n is the size of the sample.k is the total number of desired outcomes.For this problem, we have that:
There are 60 balls, hence N = 60.20 balls will be drawn, hence n = 20.3 balls are correct, hence k = 3.You win if you have the 3 correct balls, hence the probability is P(X = 3), found as follows:
[tex]P(X = x) = h(x,N,n,k) = \frac{C_{k,x}C_{N-k,n-x}}{C_{N,n}}[/tex]
[tex]P(X = 3) = h(3,60,20,3) = \frac{C_{3,3}C_{60,20}}{C_{60,20}} = 0.0333[/tex]
Hence you are going to win approximately 3.33% of the time. The difference is because you considered that only 3 balls would be drawn, and not 20.

Step-by-step explanation:
Find the equation of the circle that passes through the points (7, 3) and (11, −1) and has its centre lying on the line 2x + y = 7.
The equation of the circle that passes through the given points and has its center lying on this line 2x + y = 7 is equal to x² + y² - 10x + 6y - 6 = 0.
The equation of a circle.Mathematically, the standard form of the equation of a circle is given by;
(x - h)² + (y - k)² = r²
Where:
h and k represents the coordinates at the center.r represents the radius of a circle.How to determine the equation of this circle?Assuming the center of this circle lies at (h, k), then we have the following expressions that models the distance from the center of the given circle:
(h - 7)² + (k - 3)² = (h - 11)² + (k - (-1))²
(h - 7)² + (k - 3)² = (h - 11)² + (k + 1)²
(h - 7)² - (h - 11)² = (k + 1)² - (k - 3)²
(h - 7 + h - 11)(h - 7 - h + 11) = (k + 1 + k - 3)(k + 1 - k + 3)
(2h - 18)(4) = (2k - 2)(4)
8h - 72 = 8k - 8
8h - 8k = 64
h - k = 8 .......equation 1.
Since (h, k) lies at 2x + y = 7, we have:
2h + k = 7 .......equation 2.
Solving eqn. 1 and eqn. 2 simultaneously, we have:
h - k = 8
2h + k = 7
3h = 15
h = 15/3
h = 5.
For the value of k, we have:
h - k = 8
5 - k = 8
k = 5 - 8
k = -3.
Next, we would determine the radius of this circle:
Radius, r² = (h - x)² + (k - y)²
Radius, r² = (5 - 7)² + (-3 - 3)²
Radius, r² = (-2)² + (-6)²
Radius, r² = 4 + 36
Radius, r = √40.
Now, we can write the equation of this circle:
(x - h)² + (y - k)² = r²
(x - 5)² + (y - (-3))² = 40
(x - 5)² + (y + 3)² = 40.
x² - 5x - 5x + 25 + y² + 3y + 3y + 9 - 40 = 0
x² - 10x + 25 + y² + 6y - 31 = 0
x² - 10x + y² + 6y - 6 = 0
x² + y² - 10x + 6y - 6 = 0.

We know that "+" may be a positive sign, "−" may be a negative sign. once a symbol isn't denoted before variety, it always means that it's positive.The law of Associative Property of Addition implies that once three completely different integers are other, the obtained result's not stricken by the pattern of addition followed. The pattern won't influence the proper summation result. Again, allow us to have three integers X, Y and Z. As per the property, we've got the subsequent example supported X+(Y+Z) = (X+Y)+Z.In step 4 it is written that 30 + (-19x) -3 = 0

well, the total was really "x", which oddly enough is 100%, but if we include the tip that'd be 100% + 10% = 110%, which we happen to know is $37.40, that's the cost of food and drinks plus tip hmmm so
[tex]\begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} x & 100\\ 37.40& 110 \end{array} \implies \cfrac{x}{3740}~~=~~\cfrac{100}{110} \\\\\\ \cfrac{x}{37.40}=\cfrac{10}{11}\implies 11x=374\implies x=\cfrac{374}{11}\implies x=34[/tex]

John eats 3/8s of a pizza one day, 1/4 the next day. Can he eat half the next day? Use addition or
subtraction to justify your answer
By using addition and subtraction, we get that, John cannot eat half that is 4 / 8 of the pizza the next day.
Let the total pizza be 1.
On the first day, the fraction of pizza that John ate = 3 / 8
On the next day, the fraction of pizza that John ate = 1 / 4
Total pizza that John ate till now will be calculated using addition:
3 / 8 + 1 / 4
3 / 8 + 2 / 8
5 / 8
Now, the pizza that is left will be calculated by subtracting the pizza that he ate from the total pizza that he had.
1 - 5 / 8
8 / 8 - 5 / 8
3 / 8
We can see that the half pizza is not left.
So, he cannot eat half that is 1 / 2 or 4 / 8 pizza the next day.
Therefore, by using addition and subtraction, we get that, John cannot eat half that is 4 / 8 of the pizza the next day.

Let f(x) = tan(x)-2/x. Let g(x) = x^2+8.
What is f(x)*g(y)?
Answer:
Step-by-step explanation:
(x)*g(y)
=(tanx-2/x)*(y²+8)
=y²tanx+8tanx-2y²/x-16/x
The product of two functions f(x)*g(y), when f(x) = tan(x)-2/x and g(x) = x^2+8 is,
[tex]f(x)\times g(y)= y^2\tan(x)+8\tan(x)-\dfrac{2y^2}{x}-\dfrac{16}{x}[/tex]
What is the product of functions?When the two or more than two functions are multiplies together. Then the resultant function is called the product of these functions.
Let suppose there is a function f(x) and another function g(x). Then the product of function can be written as,
[tex]f(x)\times g(x)[/tex]
Let suppose, a function f(x) is
[tex]f(x)= tan(x)-\dfrac{2}{x}[/tex]
Let another function g(x) is,
[tex]g(x)= x^2+8[/tex]
Then g(y), will be,
[tex]g(y)= y^2+8[/tex]
The product of this two function is,
[tex]f(x)\times g(y)= \left(\tan(x)-\dfrac{2}{x}\right)\times(y^2+8)\\f(x)\times g(y)= y^2\tan(x)+8\tan(x)-\dfrac{2y^2}{x}-\dfrac{16}{x}[/tex]
Thus, the product of two functions f(x)*g(y), when f(x) = tan(x)-2/x and g(x) = x^2+8 is,
