आज विद्यालयों में दी जानेवाली शिक्षा का मात्र इतना महत्व है की आप अच्छे अंक से उत्तीर्ण हों जाए और घर समाज में आपके माता पिता का नाम रोशन हो जाए इसके अलावा इस शिक्षा का एक विद्यार्थी के दैनिक जीवन में क्या महत्व है इससे शिक्षकों तथा अभिभावकों का कोई ताल्लुक नहीं। वर्तमान में लोगों की काबिलियत केवल उनके पूर्णांकों पर ही आंक ली जाती है। एक युवक को जरूरी है की वह अपने युवावस्था में कठिनाइयों का सामना करे, जीवन के उतार चढ़ाव को झेले, पर युवाओं को बचपन से ही शिक्षा के नाम पर सरकारी नौकरी का लालच और आलस्य तथा विलासिता से भरे हुए जीवन के ऐश्वर्य के गहरे कुएं की ओर ढकेल दिया जाता है। समाज में स्त्रियों के साथ आज भी शिक्षा को लेकर कई घटनाएं सामने आती हैं जहां स्त्रियों को इतनी ही शिक्षा दी जाती है जिनसे उन्हें एक अच्छा वर मिल जाए, स्त्रियों को कभी यह नहीं बताया जाता की वे केवल विवाह और प्रजनन के लिए नहीं बनी हैं उनका भी पुरा हक है जीवन को अपने अनुसार तथा आत्मनिर्भरता से जीने का।

एक युवक या सम्पूर्ण मानव जाति की बात करें तो हमारा एक ही लक्ष्य है पूर्णता, हम सब खुद को बहुत अपूर्ण मानते हैं, आर्थिक रूप से अपूर्ण, शारीरिक सुखों से वंचित तथा अन्य चीजें। हमारी वर्तमान शिक्षा में आज आध्यात्मिकता लगभग विलुप्त हो गई है जिसके कारण एक युवक का जीवन और दुर्लभ हो गया है अब कहां हमें स्वामी विवेकानंद और वीर भगत सिंह जैसे युवा देखने मिलते हैं, हमारी शिक्षा हमें कभी आजादी का महत्व नहीं बता पाती और शायद यही एक कारण है की आज के भारतीय युवा कई बंधनों मे उलझे हुए हैं।
