Therefore, we are not asking to change the dress policy to allow girls to wear tank tops or be questioned when their shorts are 4/10th of an inch too short, we are simply asking that the rules be enforced with equity, that everyone is held to the same expectation because we are all equal.
We have been told that a good negotiation is when no one walks away from the table happy because no one person got what they absolutely wanted. We believe, if you want to treat the girls and boys with equality, then the rules should be enforced with equality. If the expectation is clearly communicated to everyone and enforced with equality, then no one has any room to complain, even if they don’t agree with the policy.
