Why was Johnson more effective and more successful than kennedy? WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST ANSWER (3 sentences please)

Answers

Explanation:

President Kennedy had much less congressional experience than Johnson. LBJ had been involved in politics of one kind or another for virtually his whole adult life. It's no exaggeration to say that politics was everything to him; he ate, slept, and drank politics to the exclusion of all else.

Throughout his time in the United States senate, Johnson came to know its often arcane and mysterious workings inside out, in the process gaining an unparalleled understanding in how to get legislation passed. If you've ever had the chance to read Robert A. Caro's remarkable biography of Johnson, you'll see how he almost single-handedly transformed the office of Senate Majority Leader from a largely formal position into one of the most powerful roles in American politics.

Read the passage below and answer the question that follows:

Seneca Falls: Common Ground
By Andrea Brecheen

The Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 was the single-most important event of the early women's suffrage movement. The suffrage movement grew out of centuries of shameful and unfair treatment of women. At the time of the Convention, women did not have the right to vote or serve on juries, and many women were unable to inherit property. In the decades leading up to the Convention, a small group of women began to rebel against these injustices. Suffrage originated from women's participation in the anti-slavery and temperance movements.

The Seneca Falls Convention was the first conference dedicated to women's rights. The Convention was organized by two female abolitionists, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. Lucretia Mott was an eloquent Quaker social reformer. Mott had previously been denied the right to speak at an anti-slavery conference in London after the men voted to exclude women from participating. Unlike many women of her time, Elizabeth Cady Stanton received a formal education. At the age of 16, Stanton studied mathematics, Latin, and Greek, demonstrating her keen abilities by mastering the subjects alongside boys of her own age.

Coming together to support the suffrage movement, Mott and Stanton organized the Convention in Seneca Falls, NY in July of 1848. During the six-day meeting, Stanton presented the Declaration of Sentiments, a document she based on the Declaration of Independence. In the Declaration, she so elegantly wrote, "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal." The Declaration included a list of grievances detailing the treatment of women. The Declaration was signed by sixty-eight women and thirty-two men.

Following the Convention, in 1848 the New York State Assembly passed the Married Women's Act. This act protected property that women brought into or earned during marriage.

Read the passage. Which sentence best represents a fact about Elizabeth Cady Stanton detailed in the text?

"Unlike many women of her time, Elizabeth Cady Stanton received a formal education."
"In the Declaration, she so elegantly wrote, 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal.'"
"Stanton rightly believed it should the law should be changed to make it easier for women to get divorces and keep their access to their children."
"At the age of 16, Stanton studied mathematics, Latin, and Greek, demonstrating her keen abilities by mastering the subjects alongside boys of her own age."

Which of the following is the most accurate example of President Taft's policy of "dollar diplomacy"?

A) maintaining a military force to discourage European colonization in Latin America

B) exerting economic influence rather than military force in Latin American countries

C) allowing for the nationalization of Latin American property owned by US citizens

D) using international trade organizations to stabilize Latin American economies

Answers

Answer:

B) exerting economic influence rather than military force in Latin American countries

Explanation:

Dollar diplomacy is an offshoot of the President Roosevelt intervention which was initiated by President Taft inorder to exert economic influence in most Latin America as well as stablise the American economy.

To him, it is better in substituting dollars for bullets as seen in the excerpts of his address to the congress on December 3, 1912. The phrase "Dollar deplomacy" was picked up by his critics after the address due to the fact that, he preferred to protect American enterprises abroad rather than engage in war

How does the author's discussion of different death rates help readers understan

spread of the Black Death? Use evidence from the text in your response.

Answers

Answer:

The discussion on mortality shows that humans were more responsible for deaths from the Black Death than rats.

Explanation:

This question is about the article "Don’t Blame the Rats for Spreading the Black Death," where we are introduced to a group of scientists investigating the proliferation and effects of Black Death in medieval Europe.

In that article, when studying mortality rates in relation to the means of transmission of the disease, scientists came to the conclusion that fleas and lice from humans were more responsible for the fatal infection of the disease than fleas and lice from rats. Thus, it is possible to conclude that, although the disease originated in the rat, humans were the main transmitters and not the mice.

If you were an outside observer, it might make sense that civil rights advocates should wait a little longer. It can't be that bad, right? The letter helps put you in the footsteps of a 6-year-old girl who can't go to an amusement park because only white people are allowed, and it shows why it is hard for people to wait for change. Without the imagery, the letter would not be nearly as effective; you would not be able to see it from the perspective of a Black person.

How did these advancements or practices affect the development and growth of the civilization? How did they affect the other civilization you selected?

Answers

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

Unfortunately, you forgot to include the advancements to know what they are and answer your question. Otherwise, we do not know what are those advancements, just you know them.

You also forgot to mention what was the civilization you selected. There are many ancient civilizations.

However, trying to help you with some information, we can comment on the following.

We are going to choose the Sumerian civilization.

The advancement or the practice that affect the development and growth of the civilization was that Sumerian learned agriculture techniques that allowed them to stop being nomads and settle in a territory for the first time to grow crops and built homes to live permanently there.

In this case, Sumerians settled in between two major rivers: the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, in the Middle East region, modern-day Iraq. There, they learned how to benefit from the flooding of the rivers to grow crops in the fertile land.

Due to this success, they could establish powerful city-states such as Lagash, Nippur, Ediru, Kish, Ur, and Uruk.

They affect the other civilizations such as the Harappan or the Indus Valley civilization that settled next to the Indus River, and the ancient Egyptians that settled in next to the Nile River in North Africa.

Should a teacher be able to yell at a student for not standing for the "Pledge of Allegiance" at the start of each school day? Why or why not?

1. Make a claim in one sentence

2. Elaborate on that claim in a second sentence

Answers

Answer:

No, because many federal courts have agreed that public schools may not force students to stand during the pledge of allegiance because it breaks the students first amendment rights.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that requiring all public school students to recite the pledge of allegiance was a violation of their First Amendment rights, because free speech includes the right not to speak against your beliefs (West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943))

Now, if you were in a private school, they can do whatever they want and could force you to do this

What war crimes was Josef Mengele accused of?

Answers

1.) The Nazi Party

2.) He was charged with crimes against humanity.

3.) He was an SS physician whose research was aimed at helping populate Germany after the war (assuming a Nazi victory). He wanted to ensure that there were enough Aryans to fill the "liebenstrom", or "living space" that Hitler had conquered. He also oversaw the administration of Zyklon B, the gas used in the chambers. He would also perform hospital checks, and anyone who had not recovered after two weeks was immediately sent to the gas chambers.

4.) He was nicknamed the Angel of Death, due to the brutality and inhumanity of his experiments.

5.) Mengele was the one who prisoners would pass before in a line. Mengele would either point left or right. Those going left were immediately sent to the gas chambers. Those going right would live another day.

6.) His research was mainly in the area of genetics and heredity. He wanted to prove the idea of heredity over environment, which would strengthen the Nazi ideology. He had a particular interest in twins. He was interested in finding out if there were ways to increase the chances of Aryan women having more children, so populating the liebenstrom would be easier.

7.) He suffered a stroke while swimming and drowned

8.) Same as number two

Describe the process you observed in the simulation of weathering creating sedimentary rock.

Answers

I cannot see what the simulation is, but weathering changes the earth's surface. The weathering process causes rocks to disintegrate, move to lower elevations due to gravity, and be carried by water and wind. Sediment is then trapped in depressions in the ground where it can become buried deeply. As a result, the rock begins to physically break down and is cemented together with other pieces of rock, along with the remains of plants and animals.

The North and the South React Why did the South support the Dred Scott decision? The decision allowed them to reinstate the slave trade. The decision strengthened the institution of slavery. The decision made slavery legal in the North.

Answers

Answer:

Option: The decision strengthened the institution of slavery.

Explanation:

The Dred Scott decision supported by the South because it strengthened the institution of slavery. Slavery was the backbone of the South economy. Slaves were considered as property in the South and held captive and forced to work in plantations. The decision of the Supreme Court supported by the southerners because they always believed the North had no right to interfere with matters related to slavery.
