"The early mill girls were of different ages. Some were not over ten years old; a few were in middle life, but the majority were between the ages of sixteen and twenty five. The very young girls were called 'doffers.' They 'doffed,' or took off, the full bobbins from the spinning frames, and replaced them with empty ones. These mites worked about fifteen minutes every hour and the rest of the time was their own. When the overseer was kind they were allowed to read, knit, or go outside the millyard to play. They were paid two dollars a week. The working hours of all the girls extended from five o'clock in the morning until seven in the evening, with one half hour each, for breakfast and dinner. Even the doffers were forced to be on duty nearly fourteen hours a day. This was the greatest hardship in the lives of these children. Several years later a ten hour law was passed, but not until long after some of these little doffers were old enough to appear before the legislative committee on the subject, and plead, by their presence, for a reduction of the hours of labor.

Use the primary source above to answer the following - Explain working conditions for young girls in the factories.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Long working hours. Small pay

Explanation:

From the source shown above, the young girls had to work really long hours from 5 am to around 7 pm. Even though they were granted breakfast and lunch hours, this is still a long time to work. Long work hours have been shown to drain a person and lead to fatigue, lack of attentiveness and lower productivity.

The young girls also received little pay for the amount of hours of work they put in. The doffers for instance, were paid $2 a week for being on duty for nearly fourteen hours a day. Assuming this is a 6 day work week, that would translate to less than 3 cents per hour.

These working conditions took such a toll on the young ladies that they were able to argue the case for a reduction in work hours by their presence.

Responsibility for an accident is rarely defined clearly and is often difficult to trace to one or two people or causes. In this fictitious case, it is clear that a large number of people share responsibility for the accident. Identify all the people you think were at least partially responsible for the death of Bart Matthews, and explain why you think so.

Answer and Explanation:

When reading the case indicated in the question above, we can see that it is a case where a poorly programmed industrial robot killed its operator. In this case, we can point out that the programmers of this robot are the first culprits. This is because the robot in question exhibited a violent and dangerous behavior that could have been avoided with correct programming and effective tests. This shows that the programmers did not have enough knowledge and experience to work on this project. This makes us able to point out other culprits that is the company that hired the programmers called Silicon Techtronics, as well as the manager and responsible for the project because it had the obligation to assess the degree of professionalism of the programmers, as well as ensuring the safety of employees.

The German Nazis identified Jews as a "race," and race was believed to be biological. Nonetheless, the Jews were forced to wear a yellow Star of David because there was no reliable physical indicator of this supposed "race."

true or false

Answers

Answer is in photo link please

The assertion is accurate. There was no credible physical marker for this alleged "race," so the Jews were made to wear a yellow Star of David.

What is the yellow star of David?

Jews were required to wear a Yellow Star-shaped emblem as identification across Nazi-occupied Europe. This was not a novel concept; even since the Middle Ages, numerous other societies have required their Jewish members to don identification badges.

The badges were frequently garishly yellow and printed on coarse yellow cloth. The word "Jew" was written in mock-Hebraic font, and the star, which stood in for the star of David, was highlighted in strong, black lines. Even infants in strollers were required to wear armbands or stars in some ghettos. Jewish businesses were also identified by a yellow star.

The star was meant to degrade Jews and single them out for prejudice and exclusion. Additionally, the policy made it simpler to locate Jews for camp deportation.

A country is able to keep up with its population growth if it is able to produce enough food to feed the population gained by the high population growth.

Which statement is true regarding
ecosystems? They are examples of
A. closed systems in regards to matter.
B. closed systems in regards to energy.
C. open systems in regards to energy and matter.
D. open systems in regards to energy, but not matter.

Answers

An ecosystem is a place where plants, animals, and other organisms interact with the environment, weather, and other variables to form a bubble of life.

Thus, Option c is correct.

Why is the ecosystem seen as an open system?

Any system's interaction with its environment falls into one of three categories. With its surroundings, an isolated system does not interchange either energy or substance. A closed system exchanges energy but does not matter.

An open system permits the exchange of matter and energy with its environment. Any environment can contain an open system. For instance, sunlight has the potential to both fuel the system and dissipate heat. Matter can enter the system in a number of ways. Rain falls on it, evaporates, or is transported away by a stream. Additionally, animals enter the system and leave the as decaying matter.

Santa Fe, New Mexico is where I think it ended

The Santa Fe Trail started in Missouri and ended in the Mexican Cession (unorganized territory), which included parts of present-day Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

What was part of the Mexican Cession?

Upper California and New Mexico were given over to the US by Mexico as per the provisions of the deal Trist negotiated. This was referred to as the Mexican Cession and covered portions of present-day Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. (see Article V of the treaty).

The Santa Fe Trail was a major trade route during the mid-19th century, used for commerce between Missouri and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Missouri was a central location for trade, as it was located on the Mississippi River and had access to other major rivers and waterways.

The trail led to the Mexican Cession, which at the time was a sparsely populated region with limited transportation options, making it a valuable destination for trade goods. Additionally, the Mexican government encouraged trade with the United States, which further supported the use of the Santa Fe Trail.
