write a recount of a situation in which you were overcome with emotions. It could be anything, such as the first time when you received a prize in a school competition and your parents were among the audience to witness it or any other situation that you can think of. Recount the memory and instead of recapping the sequence of events only, try to slow down and dwell on how you emotionally felt. Use uncommon words/phrases/expressions to describe your emotions.
Answer and Explanation:
I was only twelve. The gymnasium seemed so big, but this time it did not intimidate me. This one as well as others had intimidated me for weeks, but now I had conquered them. It had been my very first time competing in a volleyball tournament for my school, and we had won. All the nervousness and anxiety, all that yelling from the coach and teammates had been worth it. We lined up, side by side, facing the seats. My mother and younger brother were there, smiling, happy to see me happy. My mother had made a point of driving me to every single game and watching them to the very end. Somehow, it felt as if the medal I was about to receive was hers as much as it was mine.
All of a sudden, her presence was made even more important. Someone had the idea of inviting the parents onto the court to place the medals around our eager necks. No one else’s parents were there; at least for my team. I was sorry for them, but there she came. She was now everyone’s mother, giving each of my teammates their respective medals and a congratulatory hug. We were all her children for a moment, and sharing my mother had never made me happier.
NOTE: I based this in my real-life experience. Feel free to change anything in order to adapt it to your life.

In a short story taking place in the forest the sounds of the forest animals and insects are described at length. What choice might a filmmaker adapting the short story make instead of describing the sounds
Answer: Create a dramatic sound mix to present the sounds to the
audience
Question:
Here is the complete question:
In a short story taking place in the forest, the sounds of the forest animals
and insects are described at length. What choice might a filmmaker adapting the short story make instead of describing the sounds?
A. Remove the sounds from the film
B. Create a dramatic sound mix to present the sounds to the
audience
C. Change the setting to avoid the forest sounds
D. Have one of the film's characters comment on the sounds
Explanation:
In short stories and other literary works, the authors rely mainly on written descriptions, monologues or dialogues to present elements such as settings, characters, actions, etc. However, in cases whereby these literary works are adapted into films, the descriptions are not used because the use of a narrator is not common in films, therefore the filmmakers rely on the actions of characters and also show elements rather than describing them.
This means, in the case of a short story that is set in a forest, the best choice for adapting this is to allow the audience hear the sounds of the forest rather than describing them and therefore, the correct answer is to "create a dramatic sound mix to present the sounds to the audience". Option B is the right answer.

Excerpt from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
The new era began; the king was tried, doomed, and beheaded; the Republic of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, or Death, declared for victory or death against the world in arms; the black flag waved night and day from the great towers of Notre Dame....
There was no pause, no pity, no peace, no interval of relenting rest, no measurement of time. Though days and nights circled as regularly as when time was young, and the evening and morning were the first day, other count of time there was none. Hold of it was lost in the raging fever of a nation, as it is in the fever of one patient. Now, breaking the unnatural silence of a whole city, the executioner showed the people the head of the king—and now, it seemed almost in the same breath, the head of his fair wife which had had eight weary months of imprisoned widowhood and misery, to turn it grey....
A revolutionary tribunal in the capital, and forty or fifty thousand revolutionary committees all over the land; a law of the Suspected, which struck away all security for liberty or life, and delivered over any good and innocent person to any bad and guilty one; prisons gorged with people who had committed no offence, and could obtain no hearing; these things became the established order and nature of appointed things, and seemed to be ancient usage before they were many weeks old. Above all, one hideous figure grew as familiar as if it had been before the general gaze from the foundations of the world—the figure of the sharp female called La Guillotine.
It was the popular theme for jests; it was the best cure for headache, it infallibly prevented the hair from turning grey, it imparted a peculiar delicacy to the complexion, it was the National Razor which shaved close: who kissed La Guillotine, looked through the little window and sneezed into the sack. It was the sign of the regeneration of the human race. It superseded the Cross. Models of it were worn on breasts from which the Cross was discarded, and it was bowed down to and believed in where the Cross was denied.
How do the historical conditions of this period affect this excerpt from the novel?
The relentless violent horror of the Reign of Terror expresses itself in the long, gruesomely detailed descriptions
The fact that there is terror in all periods of history is revealed in the description of the Reign of Terror continuing night and day without a pause
The rightness of the cause of the revolution is proven by the description of the thousands of revolutionary committees that sprang up
Dickens's lack of understanding of the revolution's horror is shown in his comical description of the guillotine.
Answer:
The fact that there is terror in all periods of history is revealed in the description of the Reign of Terror continuing night and day without a pause
Explanation:
The text shown above may influence the novel as a whole, due to its declaration of terror and constant violence. In all periods of the text we can see descriptions of terror situations, which, as the text itself presents, happened day and night, without pause or relief.
With this, this text can give the novel a sense of urgency, despair, fear and tiredness, showing that something really uncomfortable was happening in the place and that it influences the narrative efficiently.
The relentless violent horror of the Reign of Terror expresses itself in the long, gruesomely detailed descriptions.Answer:

To what extent have civil liberties been curtailed during times of war since the founding of the United States? pls help it's a dbq
Answer:
The story of civil liberties during World War I is, in many ways, even more disturbing. When the United States entered the war in April 1917, there was strong opposition to both the war and the draft. Many citizens argued that the goal of the United States was not to “make the world safe for democracy,” but to protect the investments of the wealthy. President Woodrow Wilson had little patience for such dissent. He warned that disloyalty “must be crushed out” of existence and that disloyalty “was … not a subject on which there was room for … debate.” Disloyal individuals, he explained, “had sacrificed their right to civil liberties.”

"Napoleon ended his speech with a reminder of Boxer's

Answer:
The details Orwell includes to support the theme that dictators care only about themselves and not about those they rule is:
"Napoleon ended his speech with a reminder of Boxer's two favourite maxims, 'I will work harder' and 'Comrade Napoleon is always right maxims, he said, which every animal would do well to adopt as his own."
Explanation:
Napoleon and Boxer are characters in the allegorical novella "Animal Farm", by George Orwell. The novella is a criticism to the Soviet regime in Russia. The pig Napoleon functions as a representation of Joseph Stalin. Napoleon does not care about the other animals in the farm. All he wants is for them to work while he lives comfortably. The most hard-working of all is a horse, Boxer, who is already eleven years old. When Boxer can no longer perform, instead of retiring him and supporting him for the rest of his life as he had once promised, Napoleon sells him to a slaughterhouse.
Still, at Boxer's funeral, Napoleon pretends to care about Boxer. The animals are unable to see through this façade, but it is all crystal clear for readers. Orwell even includes the ironic detail of Napoleon telling the animals to adopt Boxer's maxims as their own. Every animal, according to him, should think of Napoleon as incorruptible, as the perfect leader, and every animal should also work harder. Napoleon did not care about Boxer and he does not care for the ones who are still alive. All he wants is for them to keep on working, ignorant of his immoral behavior.
Answer:
D - Napoleon ended his speech with a reminder of Boxer's two favourite maxims, ‘I will work harder’ and ‘Comrade Napoleon is always right’—maxims, he said, which every animal would do well to adopt as his own.

essay on corona virus on my mental health
an essay on corona? ok! here
It has affected me personally in the social and educational aspect, but I know around the city of Detroit it's affecting others as well. In Detroit, which is one of the cities around the country hit hard by the virus, the pandemic has also affected the youth. Youth are now forced to stay home instead of going to school and spending time with friends. Most kids need to be outside and with people to release their energy and socialize. Now this cannot happen, because the virus has affected us so much. One thing we also see happening is food insecurities and social distancing. Due to what is happening in the world, people are very much afraid and cautious about food supply and interactions with people. People are afraid and are told to stay inside, so we stock up supplies that will last them about a month. Usually people get stuff that we will last them about two weeks, but now we need to stay home as much as we can.
With social distancing, we now separate ourselves from other parts of society. This has made me feel very much disconnected from my friends. Humans are made to be out and about and socialize with beings on Earth. These unfortunate events have led many people to be disconnected from society. This has allowed my mind to go to the dark side, where my fears come out. My main fear is “How long will my life be on pause?” I’m afraid of how long I will be stuck in the house and can’t see my friends. Will it be a couple more weeks or will it be a couple months?

can someone help me come up with a title for an essay about fitting into social groups in school?
Answer:
Fitting in is an important part of life because it has almost everything to do with turning out in life. Knowing the right people will directly affect a person’s life later on, job wise and high school reunions. Part of fitting in is rejection. This happens because when someone does not reject a particular person then they might be rejected for not rejecting that person. “… Waking up in the morning and wondering if anyone would really miss me.” this is a thought that might course through someone’s mind after being rejected. Most people respond differently, Some people might dress and act totally different just to try to “fit in” that way. Most will just forget about that group or single person. I have often observed that people often times try to find out why that person or group rejected them and try to make it better. Being rejected is like someone saying “You do not fit in with us so leave us alone” it’s a nasty feeling. Some people let others down easy and that is nice of them. Why is it so hard to fit in? There is so much social pressure now that it is getting harder and harder to “fit in”. When I say social pressure I mean how to act, look, sound, walk, and so on.
